Purchasing a Dell Computer

You can use a Dell computer with Orchid Medical Spa Software. If you would like to leave the Orchid Medical Spa web site, and go to the Dell web site, click here. You will be taken to the Dell computer configuration screen. We recommend you configure your Dell computer as follows:

Processor:	2.8 GHz
Operating System:	XP Professional (if networking more than 2 computers) Or, XP Home (if single computer or networking 2 computers) Vista Home Premium, Ultimate, Business or Enterprise 2003 Server 2008 Server
Memory:	1 GB Minimum, 2 GB+ Recommended
Keyboard:	Your choice. If you get a wireless keyboard, be sure to ask for a USB attachment if you order a bar code reader or credit card reader from CMJ Designs Inc. (with your Orchid Medical Spa order).
Hard Drive:	80GB ATA/100 7200 RPM
CD or DVD Drives:	Your choice.
Monitor:	Your choice. We recommend the 17". If you are a very large business with many employees, we recommend a 19" or larger. This allows for easy viewing of employees in the appointment book.
Sound Card:	Integrated is fine.
Speakers:	Your choice.
USB port:	If you are purchasing a cash drawer and a receipt printer, make sure the computer has a USB port. Check the appropriate Requirements page for more details on required ports for purchased hardware.
Modem:	If you are NOT getting the integrated credit card processing, then the modem is optional since our software will not require one. If you are getting the integrated credit card processing and will be using a dial-up connection with phone line to process credit cards, then we recommend an external U.S. Robotics modem.
