How to Upgrade to Version 7

Upgrading your software is easy! Just make sure to follow the steps below and check the important notes to make sure that you meet the requirements to upgrade.

To use Version 7, you must have a Version 7 serial number. If you have Internet access, your initial purchase was within the past 2 years, or are currently on a payment or lease plan, Orchid Medical Spa Version 7 will automatically obtain this number when you run it for the first time. If you originally purchased prior to two years ago, you must purchase the upgrade. If you are unsure of your purchase date, please send an e-mail to us. Be sure to include your complete contact information. If you are sure you qualify for the upgrade, follow the instructions below:

(a) Using your current version of Orchid Medical Spa Software, make a backup copy of your database by selecting Backup -> Backup Database from the File pull-down menu. After you do this, close Orchid Medical Spa Software.
(b) Review the important notes on our upgrade notes page.
Uninstall Orchid Medical Spa Software. If you have Windows XP (Service Pack 2), go to the Control Panel and then select Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Orchid Medical Spa Software. If you have Windows Vista, go to the Control Panel then Programs and uninstall Orchid Medical Spa Software.
Click the Download Now button below. This version will run on Windows XP (Service Pack2, Home or Pro), Vista, 2003 Server or 2008 Server.

Select the Run or Open the file download. Once the file is downloaded to your computer, the setup process should begin. Follow the prompts to complete the installation, selecting Next or Finish as appropriate.
After the update has finished, start Orchid Medical Spa Software. See the bullet points below:
- If you are on a payment plan or lease, your old serial number will continue to work. You will not need a new serial number and you will not need to activate the software.
- If you just purchased V7, you will be prompted with the Activation screen. Follow the instructions. We recommend activating using the Internet.
- If you qualify for the free upgrade (your initial purchase was within the past 2 years from today's date), you will be prompted with the Activation screen. Follow the instructions. We recommend activating using the Internet. Be sure to print or write down your new serial number and keep it in a safe place.
Your database will automatically be updated.
If you are networking computers, be sure to install the upgrade on EACH computer on the network.

If you are using X-Charge software, please be sure you have Version 6.1.2 or greater. Please do not uninstall X-Charge prior to updating it. You will just need to check for updates within X-Charge and follow the prompts.
