How to Update to the Latest Version

Updating your software is easy! After you have purchased the update, just make sure to follow the steps below to make sure that you meet the requirements to update.

Using your current version of Orchid, make a backup copy of your database by selecting Backup -> Backup Database from the File pull-down menu. After you do this, close Orchid.
Uninstall Orchid. If you have Windows XP (Service Pack 2), go to the Control Panel and then select Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Orchid. If you have Windows Vista, go to the Control Panel then Programs and uninstall Orchid.
Click the Download Now button below. Please check our hardware requirements page to make sure your computer(s) meets the requirements for this update.

Select the Run or Open the file download. Once the file is downloaded to your computer, the setup process should begin. Follow the prompts to complete the installation, selecting Next or Finish as appropriate.
After the update has finished, start Orchid. See the bullet points below:
- If you are on a payment plan or lease, your old serial number will continue to work. You will not need a new serial number and you will not need to activate your software.
- If you just purchased V, you will be prompted with the Activation screen. Follow the instructions. We recommend activating using the Internet.
Your database will automatically be updated.
If you are networking computers, be sure to install the upgrade on EACH computer on the network.

If you are using X-Charge software, please be sure you have Version 6.1.2 or greater. Please do not uninstall X-Charge prior to updating it. You will just need to check for updates within X-Charge and follow the prompts.
